This applied much better than the other Zoyas I’ve tried. I also really like the short brush on the Zoyas after I’ve been using so many polishes that have really long brushes.
The color of the polish is lovely – a tangerine-ish shade, not too bright. I haven’t yet decided if I’m enjoying the finish or not though. It’s obviously a glitter, but it comes off on my nails looking kind of silvery and frosty. It is also depressingly sheer. This is five coats. Five! I normally give up way before that, but I wanted to give this one a chance. It took FOREVER to dry! And even 2 days later it’s still dentable.

Here’s a fun little Halloween thing I did last night.

So, to continue on the animal print theme, I have made leopard nails, inspired by a ton of bloggers lately:
Nail Na Nails
And surely more, this has been everywhere lately, but these are the ones I can find right now.
I tried out my Art Deco black nail art polish for this one, and it worked OK – I oddly had the same problem as I had with the Konad polish: adding a topcoat made it streak BADLY. I know why the Konad polish does that, but this polish dries pretty quickly! Are you just not able to use topcoats with nail art, or what? Anyway, I stopped adding topcoat after the first two nails so that I could get some pictures.
Finally, I found a use for my semi-ugly China Glaze V polish, which I only got because it was on clearance at Sally’s!
It’s nighttime, so no sunlight shots, sadly.

This is a little too orange for me, I think. It’s a nice light orange/coral color that is totally me, but it has gold shimmer, which ruins it for me a little.
I tried to capture the gold shimmer!

A weird thing happened while I was trying to do this design. I was on like my 7th nail, and suddenly it seemed like the pattern was drying instantly on the stamp, and it wouldn’t transfer to my nails! That’s never happened to me before, and it’s not a problem I’ve really heard of happening, either. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong! But, next time I tried it, I filed the stamp and the problem was fixed. An odd thing to make that happen, though.

even photoshop failed me this time.
It was impossble to get a color-accurate picture of this. I’ll try again tomorrow outside in the sunlight. I usually take my pictures under artificial light, because I normally don’t do my nails until after or close to dark.
This was…such an odd polish. It’s just…it’s almost like a shimmery neon, and it is So. Bright. I actually cannot tell what color it is. The bottle looks like a bright, shimmery red with a hint of orange, but on my nails it doesn’t look red to me. It looks more like a bright, orangy hot pink. It was an odd formula, also – very, very, very thin, it was drying on my nail before I could get an entire nail painted, so I had to start glopping the brush up with polish.
I got it on clearance at Sally’s for $2.99. A pretty good price, but probably not worth buying, since it turns out that I despise it.
For tonight’s polish job I attempted to try Brooke’s method of not getting the skin around my nails all painted. It worked so much better!!!
