Well this is my first foray into nail jewels. I’ve had some sitting around for forever and just never did anything with them before.
So…I stuck them on while my Seche Vite was still tacky, then covered it with another layer of Seche. Which…is that how it should be done? On my thumbs the Seche is sort of pooling around the rhinestones and it looks silly. Actually my thumbs look silly anyway, there’s way too much going on.
I suppose I shouldn’t hide my nail mistakes, posting them will help me grow! Or something. It will give me photographic evidence of what NOT to do, at least.
The verdict per me: thumbs = bad, other fingers = acceptable.
I added this stuff to my previous manicure with Sally Hanson XTREEEEEEME WEAR Ice Coffee, Konad plate 64, and Special Polish in Wine Red.

Ice Coffee is a winner! Stupid name, yes, both for the grammatical…weirdness, and also because coffee should never be red, but I really like the color. How to describe it, though? Dusty reddish mauve? Muted frosty red? Once again, I love these Xtreme Wear polishes!

Did not like!
That’s me though, not the polish. Dark greeny/teal colors kind of turn my stomach. I’m not sure why. But I put this on and immediately got the urge to take it right back off.
I’m kinda terrible at classifying finishes – I guess this would be a frost? Gross.

I think the Zoya bottles are just so cute! I really want to love this brand.
Zoya’s site describes this one as:
Shimme[r]ing silver blue metallic.
Intensity:4(1= Very Shear to 5= Very Opaque)
ooooooooh! (natural light)
“Silver blue metallic” is a perfect description. This is so…ahhhhhhh. That’s how I feel about this color. It just makes me sigh with satisfaction. Blue is my favorite color, and this is just the perfect blue!! It’s a deep light-ish blue with a lot of gray in it. I can’t even describe it! I just love this polish!
I had the same application problems with this one as I did with my other Zoyas, but it’s totally worth it this time.
look at it! Just look at it! (flash again)
I had a busy day and don’t feel like redoing my nails tonight, plus I can’t bear to take Jo off so soon, but I did liven it up some with a few coats of Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor. My nails look like tiny little mermaids now!!!

I’m trying to roll through some of my older polishes. This is really hard, because my old polishes are almost exclusively drugstore nudes and mauves – not at all exciting!! Plus I now have all these beautiful new polishes, so I really can’t be bothered with anything old at all. But. It must be done* because it will irritate me to not follow through and finish this, so here is the first (tiny) batch.
Sally Hansen Ivory Intuition
This is sort of colorless, but very shimmery. I guess it would be a frost or a pearl? I have problems telling the two of them apart. It’s very streaky, it shows brush strokes like CRAZY, it’s gross, and this is two coats.
Maybelline Express Finish unnamed
see the tiny shimmer?
I guess the sticker with the color name must have been lost long ago, because there’s nothing identifying on this bottle. This polish is pretty good, really. It’s a very nice nude color with a tiny bit of shimmer, and it’s got a nice square brush – nice enough for me to specifically make a note about it. It dried very quickly as promised on the bottle, and it was opaque in 3 coats.
Maybelline Expresss Finish Iced Mauve
I really don’t have much to say about this one at all. It’s just blah! It’s like…the same color as my skin. It’s lighter than the unnamed Maybelline I posted above, with more shimmer.
Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Fairy Tale Ivory
crappy cellphone pic
I remember this being my very favorite polish at one time. I actually own two bottles of this because I was very close to using the first one up – probably the only time that’s ever happened. I don’t exactly know why I liked it so much now though. It’s a reallllly light pinkish white with lots of microglitter. Pretty boring.
* it must be done because I think it would be helpful to have a catalog of my polishes – what I have, how they apply, how many coats, what I liked and didn’t like about them, etc.
