I’ve been avoiding this color for weeks, and wondering why in the world I ever would have bought it. It looks like a darrrrrrrrrk brownish red – not my thing.
But on the nail! Ohhhhhhh…it is good.
Burgundy with brownish gold shimmer. Lots of shimmer!

Love, love, love. Is it pink? Is it coral? I don’t know, but I love it.
Pretty accurate swatch. It is much brighter IRL though. This is a very bright color. It’s so ME! I’m really liking the consistency of the Diamond polishes – I like runnier polishes personally.
The flash picture is color accurate, the no flash picture is not at all.
On another note, I am going back to my old lightbox. These pictures are rotten!

Still struggling mightily with my new lightbox. Sigh.
I think the combination of Sinful Colors Show Me The Way and Call You Later is possibly my favorite…ever. I have so many polishes that I’ve never tried that I usually can’t bear to wear a polish for more than a day, but this…oh this is staying on for another day. I did add a coat of Matte About You, though, and…omg, it’s still gorgeous!! The glitter is so dense, and again – the different colors and sizes of glitter just create so much interest!
Tomorrow will also be my first full test of this matte topcoat – I’ve never actually worn it for a full day before, so it will be interesting to see how it holds up.

I’ve been looking everywhere lately for the Halloween Fantasy Makers glitter, and I finally found it last night at a Walgreen’s! Of course I couldn’t stop at that so I casually strolled by the Sinful Colors display, and I could not believe the selection! The Sinful Colors display at the Walgreen’s I normally go to only ever has like 8 colors on it, no fair!
Anyway, on to today’s NOTD using two of the Sinful Colors polishes that I got last night:
Show Me The Way is an awesome bright olive color. It’s got a lot of very subtle shimmer – I really love this polish!
Call You Later was, like, MADE for layering with Show Me The Way (seriously, was it made for it?).
Call You Later is a clear base with glitter in three colors (gold and two different greens) and three sizes. The different colors and sizes of glitter creates so much more depth when layering than when just slapping one type of boring glitter on.
These are the first pictures taken with the lightbox I made today, and I still don’t think I’ve got my light source right. I might just go back to my old enormous one. I was wanting to try one that diffused light instead of my old way of just pumping bright lamplight directly into the box, which creates reflections, but with the diffused box I can’t seem to get the light bright enough and my pictures are much darker.

This polish is really pretty! It’s an awfully sheer purple that is absolutely loaded with shimmer. It’s so shimmery that it looks silvery in some lights because of all the reflection. I would buy this in every shade of the rainbow if China Glaze would just agree to make them! I think that China Glaze makes a really good shimmer, but I do wish it wasn’t quite so sheer. Also I wonder if this will be hard to remove – I had to patch a nail today on my pretty hand and I generally try to avoid glitters and hard-to-remove polishes when I’m wearing patches so that I don’t have to change them so often.

Whew, I’ve broken my polish losing streak! I was getting sick of sounding so negative in every post, so I pulled out a polish I’d been saving because I knew I’d love the color. Well, OK, I actually decided to wear it because it exactly matched one of the colors in my outfit today, but that doesn’t sound as good. I don’t EVER match my polish to anything I’m wearing, ever, but today it just seemed right! I wonder if most people do though?
This is a medium, almost hot pink, with a bit of coral to it. It’s a really nice color, but the application wasn’t as great. Well, more the consistency, really. I had to use four coats and I still had VNL, so it’s a high maintenance polish – it takes FOREVER to let four coats of polish dry enough to apply the next coat! This has a lot of very subtle shimmer.
I have been sooo boring lately with my nails! I haven’t done a bit of Konading or nail art, or anything except slapping on polish! I am going to try hard to find the time to do some nail art this weekend.

A cute bottle is NOT a good reason to buy nail polish. OK well yeah, it is, but this bottle is not cute enough to justify the polish it contains!
That said, here’s a bunch of pictures of the really cute bottle!
Now, about the bottle. It is too small. The brush wand is tiny and the cap is tiny, so it’s difficult to hold amd maneuver, and I hate it.
And about the color. It looks black, basically. It looked black all day at work unter the overhead lights, and I was hoping that it would shimmer in the sunlight but…yeah, still black unless you look realllllllllllly closely. I do not like this polish at all, and I will never wear it again. If I wanted a black polish, I have black polishes. And I guess if I want a dark green polish, I’ve got Date Night!
Man I did a rotten messy job painting my nails with this!

This one is so thiiick! Some of the other Barielles were thick, yeah, but this one…was ridiculously, unuseably thick! I don’t like thinning new polishes just on principle, but I finally added some thinner to this in order to do my third coat, and then it worked fine.
No glitter in the swatch! Shame on Barielle, the glitter is the best part!
The glitter in this is really large, and it’s hard to get it even – I see now that I have some patches with no glitter at all. I also sort of wonder about putting glitter like this in such an opaque polish – I don’t believe that the glitter from the first two coats is visible at all, so it’s…just an odd polish.
The blue and copper is awesome together, though – such an unexpected combination! This is the Barielle that I was looking forward to the most.

First of all, this is in no way a mauve. Second of all, it is in no way a good color.
It’s a medium dirty reddish purple creme. If you don’t look too closely, it just looks brown. I don’t really like it very much.
I normally looooove mauves, I have a zillion mauve-y polishes, and every lipstick I’ve ever bought has probably had the word “mauve” in the name because I’m a makeup wuss and most mauves match my natural lipcolor perfectly so you can’t tell I’m wearing it! But I would NOT call this mauve at all. This is what I think of when I think mauve:
It’s completely possible that Cover Girl has misled me about what mauve actually is I guess. 🙂 And I know those colors are pretty close to my bottle picture above, but it’s just not the same color on the nail as it is in the bottle. It’s sort of a raisiny color on my nails.
I feel kinda weird bashing a polish that was created by another blogger, but this was extremely streaky. Not too unusual for a creme, really, but it was streaky to an unusual degree. Also, I think I’ve mentioned before that some of my Barielle’s are wonderfully thin and really easy to apply…and then there’s the ones like this. Thick, thick, thiiiiick. It’s probably personal preference, but in general I don’t enjoy thick polishes.
Not at all close:

Well my Barielle treatment test is OVER.
The cream leaves my fingers greasy as heck.
The cuticle oil is just gross. It may be fine, for a cuticle oil, but I kind of hate them. Again, oily greasy fingers.
My cuticles are in horrible horrible shape. Hard and cracked and dry.
As far as the topcoat, I have sheet marks even though I usually paint my nails hours before bedtime. Also I’ve got some chipping and general dullness. I miss my shiny shiny Seche!
I dunno about the basecoat, but I do know that I need to imediately find a different one that will protect my nails from yellowing a little more. And that’s not a knock on the Barielle basecoat, it includes my Orly Nail Armor also.
I think that these products probably aren’t necessarily bad. I just haven’t given the polish ones enough time to do anything, and the cream and oil just aren’t the type of product that I like.
